My Networking State of the Union

Since it's the day for State of the Union addresses, I thought I'd share my thoughts on the subject of network marketing.  Although I can't take all the credit, a friend shared this with me.  Someone I have recently met, but am going to enjoy immensely.  We share a common business and desire to help others and we're both grandmas!  Enjoy!

Turning a Skeptic Into a Believer!

I have a very traditional husband in some respects.  He's a little older than I am and set in his ways usually.  He isn't always that sold on technology, but he's come around and has gotten pretty good at Googling things he's interested in.  So when I've tried to tell him what I do all day trying to earn online, he hasn't really heard or understood me.  Which I totally get, because it was all so foreign to me not that long ago either.

Well the other day he so surprised me, he said "There's an article in the paper about what you're doing upstairs."  I was very curious to read it.  It was all about networking.  He had listened more than I'd ever dreamed!  He'd missed all the technical stuff, but he'd gotten the real meat of the deal.  He knows I have friends all over the world who help me.  Who have taught me so much and have encouraged me.  He knows some of them by first name, I talk about them when I'm excited about something I've learned, and he's heard some of the seminars as they're playing while I'm doing dishes or something.

The point is though, it's people helping people here.

A Dog With a Bone

Wow what a day - dog lovers, this one's for you.  We have two dogs at our house, a more mature well-behaved girl that has been with us 11 years.  You'd never know she's around unless someone strange comes to the door.  She does her job then!  The other is a seven month old Rottweiler, Abe.  He's been a challenge - we haven't raised a puppy for 30 years!  But, we wanted one to be good with kids and learn to chase the deer and learn from the old girl, so we embarked on the puppy phase.  Our other dogs all came to us as older "adoptees".    Anyway, this puppy is teaching us a thing or two.

Since we live out in the middle of 40 acres and deer season has just past, there have been a few "parts" turning up in the yard lately.  He's learned the value of a deer leg.  It's gross, but it's what we deal with out here.  If you use your imagination, it's kind of like those hoofs you can buy at Wal-Mart, this one just has a little more bone left on it.  The coyotes and wild critters have taken care of most of the rest, but he loves to pack around the remaining leg.  Today Abe wouldn't even put it down to finish his food, he kept wanting to bring it in the house - which is strictly forbidden!

As I was laughing at him being so focused on his bone and not even wanting his breakfast, I got to thinking about that old expression "Like a dog with a bone."

I am looking for a few folks as determined as Abe!  Determined to make a living online from home in their spare time.  Willing to be as focused as "A Dog With a Bone."  Just imagine the success!

Didn't Hit the Mega Millions - but...

Well like most of you who dreamed of hitting it big this week, it wasn't in the cards for us.  But WOW wouldn't it have been amazing.  I saw on TV tonight the family that won half the prize picked up their check for $190 million.  I could have handled that.  Don't you have a "dream" list?  Things that you'd change if you took home that check?  We do.

Sometimes though it's even hard to think about that when you're struggling to just make it to the end of the month.  I get that too.  We've been victims of an investment scheme that I couldn't even talk about for years, it hurt so badly.  Even though the investor is in federal prison, it still hurt to think we were so taken.  That was ten years ago and we've been crawling out of a huge hole ever since.  Add to the hole the fact that health issues dumped more dirt in the hole and wouldn't let us dig out very quickly.  So I know about financial struggle.

I also know that this year as we begin a new year, I'm more hopeful than I have been in a long time.  Thanks in part to this.  I've been working online for a while now.  Since it's really my best choice, health wise.  I've been working to build a list, learning lots of things I never knew anything about, and now it's starting to truly pay.  The new year is looking brighter than they have since the big loss.  So if you're struggling, trying to learn to earn online, or just looking for a way to set aside money for education, retirement, or fun money, maybe we can enjoy the year together!
